2017 Favorites

Hey friends!! Long time no see! I have been MIA the past month... lot's of stuff brewing.  Although it's already the middle of January, I still wanted to post my finished Favorites of 2017! I always look forward to the end of the year to take time to reflect, dream, and plan for the new year. 2018 will hold some incredible moments. Getting married for one. I'm overwhelmed with joy and excitement to move forward with Nick and become husband and wife. I'm excited for all of it!!!! Only 6 months to go!

This year will be different though... I decided to not make any concrete resolutions. I've always made a hefty list of resolutions and never accomplished any, leaving me to feel disappointed and frustrated. Instead, this year I'm going to have a word. A word that will encapsulate and remind me of my inner goals, hopes and dreams for 2018. But, before I share my word of the year post I have my 2017 Favorite Moments! Here we go :)

My favorite day of 2017 was easily July 31st. Nick proposed in Montana. It was the most magical day... the best day of my life so far. I was filled to the brim with tears, love, and a new sparkly accessory. I've never experienced such an overwhelming amount of joy or happiness, where my only response was to cry and hug and kiss Nick. I'm thankful Nick created a perfect proposal for us, and I'm thankful I'll always have this day to cherish.

More favorite moments...

Spontaneously getting our cute little Layla May. I miss her being this small!!! She has been a crazy addition to our little fam. Mimosa is still not so sure about her, but she makes us laugh daily. Every morning I wake up to hear her purring and cuddling by my legs. She's an intense combination of sweet and sassy mixed with cuddly and crazy.

Photography... oh man, 2017 brought a lot of trial and error, making me realize I have so much to learn in this little photography world. In 2018 I hope to narrow my subject matter and get in more intentional practice. I do love looking back on these photos... so here are my top 10 favorite photos I've taken this year (I have more but I'm just going to force myself to choose these!).

Favorite Inspirations // Bloggers, authors, and companies who inspired me most in 2017

Company // Kasita Tiny Homes.  I am seriously OBSESSED. I want to buy one and live in one of these ASAP! They are sooooo beautiful. I love the design and this company's vision. Check it out, I'm sure you will be inspired and drooling over this place just like me.

Blogger // Casey Leigh Weigand

I just adore this mama and her beautiful family, home inspo, and personal words she shares. She is also a badass Young Living distributor who inspires me daily for new + different uses for my essential oils + wellness.

Blogger // Rachels Good Eats

I love this young Seattle health + wellness blogger! She has great recipes, wellness tips, and great work out ideas. It's inspiring to see how well she is doing for how young she is!

Blogger // The Skinny Confidential

She is a lifestyle blogger who also has a fun podcast I like to listen to now and then. She talks a lot about skin care, make up, fashion, fitness, and good food. She has so much amazing knowledge about skin care, because of her I am just now getting into Collagen Peptides! I also love her Instagram's white + light pink aesthetic- so cute!

Favorite Album: What Now by Sylvan Esso

(Some of my) Favorite Books I Read: Self-explanatory. All of these were great. I love re-reading Radical Self-Love and The Little Book of Mindfulness.

I have a pretty hefty reading list for 2018 that I am excited to tackle! It's always fun to reflect on all the "pretty" moments and things from the year, but ultimately, 2017 was a hard year. I started a new position teaching Yearbook at my work which has been incredibly stressful and time-consuming to say the least. 2017 was scattered with frustration, some disappointment, and impatience towards multiple things I want to change in my life. Every new year is an amazing chance for a fresh start and 2018 is no exception. For this new year I am focusing on love + marriage, self-care, wellness, and creating a balanced, simple lifestyle.

What are some of the things you're looking forward to in 2018?

As always, thank you for stopping by to read my little blog! xoxo S
